Naples Airport Taxi Fares 2026: Official Fixed Prices

Taxis at Naples Airport (Capodichino) do not have to run the meter to the main places in the city. The Comune di Napoli publishes fixed fares, called tariffe predeterminate, for trips between the airport and a list of city destinations, plus a separate list of one-way fares to Pompeii, Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast. A car to Piazza Garibaldi and the central station costs €21, to the port at Molo Beverello €24, and to the seafront hotels on Via Partenope €28.50.

How do you get the fixed fare?

Ask for the fixed fare before the taxi moves off. The decree says it must be requested at the start of the ride; the driver then charges the listed price instead of the meter. The price is per car, not per person, and already covers the airport supplement, night and holiday rates, luggage, pets and a radio-taxi call. Motorway tolls are extra, which matters on the longer runs to Pompeii and the Sorrento peninsula. A minivan for more than four passengers adds a €5 supplement per vehicle.

Trips beyond the city boundary are optional for Naples drivers under Italian law (Law 21/1992, article 11), so a driver can turn down a run to Sorrento or Positano even at the fixed price. If you need a car for a longer trip at a set time, book it in advance.

When does the meter run?

Any address outside the fixed list goes on the meter. Within the city it starts at €4 on weekdays between 06:00 and 22:00 and at €7.50 on Sundays, public holidays and at night, then adds €0.05 for every 42 metres or 7 seconds of slow traffic. Trips to or from the airport add €5, each bag larger than 40 × 30 × 20 cm adds €0.50, and the minimum fare is €5.

Taxi, bus or pre-booked transfer?

For the station and the port, the Alibus shuttle costs €5 per person and the shared taxi collettivo €6, so two people pay less than the fixed taxi fare either way. Once there are three or four of you with luggage, the taxi at €21 or €24 for the whole car is the better deal.

A pre-booked private transfer to the port was quoted at €48 for a sedan, twice the taxi's €24. On the longer runs the gap narrows: the fixed fare to Sorrento is €125 plus tolls, against €144 for a pre-booked sedan. What the transfer adds is a confirmed car and a driver who watches your flight, which counts for more when rank taxis can refuse trips out of town.
