Naples Airport to Sorrento: Taxi €125, Transfer or Bus

Sorrento is about 50 km from Naples Airport, roughly an hour by road on the motorway and then the coast road round the bay. The Comune di Napoli fixes the taxi fare for the trip at €125 per car, one way, plus motorway tolls.

Official taxi

Ask for the tariffa predeterminata for Sorrento before you set off. The fixed fare covers the car with luggage at any hour, including the airport supplement and night rates, and a minivan for five or more passengers adds €5. Trips outside Naples are optional for drivers, so at busy times a rank taxi may decline the run.

Pre-booked transfer

A private transfer booked in advance was quoted at €144 for a sedan (up to three passengers) and €169 for a minivan, for an afternoon arrival in mid-October. That is more than the official taxi fare. The difference pays for a confirmed car, a driver who tracks your flight, and a drop-off at your hotel door.

Bus, train and ferry

The Curreri bus leaves from the airport itself for Sorrento railway station eight times a day and takes about 75 minutes. Its fare appears when you book; we could not confirm a single current price, so check the operator's site. The Circumvesuviana train from Napoli Garibaldi is the cheapest route but gets crowded and has little room for luggage, and EAV suspends its Campania Express tourist train from 1 October 2026. NLG ferries sail daily from Molo Beverello to Sorrento for €18.50 one way; the Alibus takes you from the airport to the port for €5.

Which should you choose?

Travelling light, take the Curreri bus: it starts at the airport and needs no change. With luggage, children or a late flight, the official taxi at €125 is the best value if a driver will take you. Book a transfer if you want the car confirmed before you land, especially on summer weekends.
