Antalya transfer coverage

Distance changes the maths here. A metered taxi works out at roughly €65-80 (around 3,400-4,200 TL), while a pre-booked private transfer costs €50-75 fixed - on this route the transfer usually beats the meter rather than just matching it. The calculator below puts current numbers on that comparison.

Arriving in Side

Old Side on the peninsula is largely closed to traffic: cars stop at the edge of the historic zone, and hotels inside it are reached on foot or by small shuttle carts - expect a 5-10 minute final stretch and ask your hotel exactly where to be dropped. Most of the larger resorts are not in old Side at all but spread along the coast at Kumkoy, Evrenseki, Colakli and toward Titreyengol, each several kilometres apart - so the exact hotel name matters more here than on any other Antalya route.

Onward, Manavgat town with its markets, river and waterfalls is a short dolmus or taxi hop from Side, and in season local dolmus minibuses shuttle between the resort villages and the old town. For day trips back to Antalya or Aspendos, hotels and local agencies sell organised tours; doing it by public bus is possible but eats most of the day.

Avoid the common scams

  • Over 70 km, small meter games become big money. Use the official rank, confirm the meter is on, and treat the tariff board at the rank as the reference - any driver proposing a 'special fixed price' in cash is pricing above it.
  • A night landing raises the meter by about 50%, which on a Side-length trip can mean €30 or more extra. Families on late flights should treat the pre-booked fixed transfer as the default, not the upgrade.
  • Agree to nothing off-meter - no 'waiting fees', no 'resort entry charges'; they do not exist. The only legitimate figures are the meter plus what the fare board says, and a fixed transfer removes even that conversation.

Frequently asked questions

How much is a taxi from Antalya Airport to Side?

A metered taxi costs roughly the TL amount shown in the calculator above (updated with the current official tariff) - in the region of 3,400-4,200 TL by day, which is about €65-80.

How long is the drive from Antalya Airport to Side?

60-80 minutes for about 70 km, mostly on the fast D400 coastal road. On summer Saturdays, changeover traffic around the Side and Manavgat junctions can add 15-20 minutes.

Is a pre-booked transfer worth it over a taxi to Side?

Yes, clearly. A fixed transfer at €50-75 undercuts the typical €65-80 metered fare, locks the price before you fly and covers the drop-off in whichever resort village you booked. The meter only competes for a solo traveller on empty roads.

Is there a public transport option to Side?

Only just. The route is multi-leg and partly seasonal: a bus or the Havas shuttle into Antalya, an intercity bus toward Manavgat, then a local dolmus to your resort - around 2.5-3 hours in total and awkward with luggage. It saves real money for backpackers; for families the pre-booked transfer is the default.

My hotel is in Kumkoy or Colakli rather than Side itself - does that change the price?

Slightly. The resort villages stretch several kilometres either side of old Side; transfer operators usually price the whole zone in the same €50-75 band, while a metered taxi reflects the exact extra distance. Either way, give the precise hotel name when you book or board.
