On the AYT run, a price agreed in advance is at least a number you can budget for; a meter over that distance is not.

Inside the resort strip the distances are modest. Mahmutlar is 12.2 km east of the centre, about 13 minutes, and Konaklı 11.7 km west, about 11 minutes — both straight along the D400. What is unusual here is how you get a car: you will not reliably get an Alanya taxi through a ride-hailing app. The drivers' chamber put app work to a members' vote over 27-29 July 2026 and the majority said no. Carry cash, in small notes. With no app in the loop you settle up inside the car, and cash in lira is the norm here — do not count on a card reader in an Alanya taxi. A driver with "no change" for a large note is the usual way a ₺250 short hop turns into a rounded-up one, so break the big note before you get in.
